Paradis Sport could not be happier to have Caitlin Patterson join the Paradis Sport ambassador program. Patterson spent her childhood living in the mountains of north central Idaho, where she began skiing before she could remember. Her family moved to Anchorage, Alaska as she started high school, which allowed her to truly excel in cross country ski racing. She was named Alaska State Skimeister (state champion) in 2007 and helped lead her high school team to second in the state in 2007 and 2008. Aside from cross country skiing, Patterson also ran cross country and played soccer in high school.

Patterson continued to compete in college at the University of Vermont (UVM) in Burlington as a member of the Division I ski team. During her time at UVM, Patterson earned numerous honors as an NCAA All-American, NCAA All-Academic Team, and helped lead her team to the NCAA National Championship Team victory in 2012. She also received the 2010 NCAA Elite Academic 88 Award and was the 2012 Vermont Student Engineer of the Year.

Following her graduation in 2012 with a degree in civil engineering, Patterson joined the Craftsbury Green Racing Project ski team to continue her racing career. Patterson raced her first World Cups in 2012 and won her first US National title in 2016. As of 2022, she holds 11 US National titles in cross-country skiing and two in ski-mountaineering. She was a member of Team USA for the Winter Olympics in 2018 and in 2022, racing to 34th in the 15k skiathlon and 26th in the 30k classic in the 2018 Pyeongchang Games. Patterson also raced at the 2019 Cross-country Skiing World Championships and the 2017 World Mountain Running Championships, where she helped her women’s team to the gold in team scoring.  She loves trail running, backcountry skiing, rock climbing, biking and just about every outdoor activity.

Patterson recently moved to Portland, Maine where she now works as a structural engineer for Thornton Tomasetti. As a structural engineer, Patterson prioritizes sustainability and works to make building choices that are safe and healthy for people and the planet. Patterson also enjoys baking, especially sourdough bread, and playing folk music on the fiddle and mandolin. Clearly a renaissance woman, Caitlin Patterson brings a lot to the table and there is a mutual excitement to have her join the Paradis Sport ambassador community. Her commitment to sustainability and enthusiasm for the outdoors and fitness will make Patterson a great addition to this group.

Go Caitlin!
