Amber Freeman brings her versatility as an athlete and her sense of adventure to the Paradis Sport ambassador program. Freeman grew up in Worthington, Massachusetts on seventy acres of land with free-spirited parents who introduced her to Nordic skiing and encouraged a love of the outdoors. As a child, Freeman joined the New England Bill Koch Youth Ski League, the largest cross-country ski program for young people in the United States. One thing Freeman particularly enjoyed about Nordic skiing was cross-training. Her training regime often included two-hour runs, push-ups, a hike up a mountain, and a swim through a river to prepare for cross-country competitions. She even picked up canoe racing for sport! This training fostered a love for being active year round that remains with her.

Freeman continued to ski race throughout high school and was a member of the Nordic Ski Team at Saint Lawrence University in Canton, New York. There she majored in global studies and studied abroad in Italy and Kenya. This experience kickstarted a lifetime of adventure and, after graduation, she spent several years living out of a backpack, river rafting, and traveling the world.

After graduation, Freeman returned to Africa where she volunteered with Soft Power Education on the Nile River in Uganda. She later lived in Chile and spent four summers working in Interlaken, Switzerland as an activities concierge for a hostel. Testing out recommended activities - such as paragliding, rafting, and skydiving - was part of her job description. Freeman also spent winters in Aspen, Colorado teaching skiing and volunteering at a youth ski club.

In 2012, Freeman returned stateside to the Maine Winter Sports Center (now the Outdoor Sport Institute) where she worked as the youth programming director for three years. She then took on the same position at the New England Nordic Ski Association (NENSA) for three more years. Freeman now lives in Campton, NH with her husband, four-time Olympic Nordic skier Kris Freeman, and their three-year-old son, Axl.

Living in the White Mountains, Freeman and her family are very active. Axl is a lucky kid - his mom shares her love of the outdoors with him, taking him hiking, Strider biking, and swimming regularly. Freeman still finds time to pursue kayaking, hiking, running, yoga, and Nordic skiing and she particularly enjoys hiking with her girlfriends and running with her six-month old Vizsla puppy. Between Freeman’s travels, she trained to become a yoga instructor, so she uses that experience to teach Kripalu yoga. She loves coaching and hopes one day to enjoy the sports she loves as a coach.

Freeman joined the Paradis Sport ambassador program because she wanted to be a part of a brand whose products are made by women for women. She also believes in our mission and product – she even says that our underwear is the best choice for moms who are running around chasing their kids! Her experience across so many sports and her exposure to many performance products has led her to describe herself as a gear expert. We were thrilled to hear her say, “Paradis Sport undies are the best - and I really have tried them all.” We are so excited to have Freeman aboard, and we know that this globetrotter-super-mom will make a great addition to the team.
