Lakeville, Connecticut — July 14, 2026 — Today, Paradis Sport introduces the Marie Paradis Collection, including new merino blend underwear and the brand’s first ever sports bra.
This collection honors the brand’s namesake, Marie Paradis, who was the first woman to summit Mont Blanc, the tallest peak in the Alps. July 14 also marks the 218th anniversary of her historic ascent.
During her expedition up the 15,771-ft mountain, maidservant-turned-mountaineer Marie Paradis wore Mother Nature’s performance fabric: wool. Inspired by her enduring spirit and wardrobe, Paradis’s new collection of seamless merino blend styles is made to move, whether you’re scaling a mountain, hitting the trails, or strolling the streets of a mountain town.
The collection features a seamless bikini and racerback sports bra, both crafted from a high-performance merino blend and offered in four stunning shades: resolve indigo, courage crimson, graphite grit, and spirit violet. Tested by elite and professional athletes across a range of sports – from trail running to ski mountaineering – the collection harnesses the natural benefits of merino wool for today’s modern adventurer.
As concerns over forever chemicals mount, many athletes are choosing natural fiber activewear. Naturally breathable, moisture-wicking, and temperature-regulating, merino wool has long been a go-to for heading outdoors. Through extensive research, Paradis Sport engineered the Marie Paradis sports bra and underwear in a seamless construction that provides all-day comfort for active use and everyday activities. Merino’s natural quick-drying and odor-repelling properties make it ideal for endurance activities and travel, while the seamless construction delivers soft, supportive stretch and optimal shape retention.
In 1808, Marie Paradis joined an expedition of local guides setting out from Chamonix, a town at the base of Mont Blanc. Over three days, the maidservant did her best to keep pace with the 7 men in her party – scrambling up the ice in woolen skirts and leather town shoes while battling altitude sickness among other impediments. Despite the difficulties, she reached the peak, becoming the first woman to summit Mont Blanc. Importantly, years later Marie Paradis returned to Mont Blanc to congratulate and help celebrate another woman who reached the summit, demonstrating not only her humble spirit but the importance and power of community.
Today, you can find Marie enshrined on Chamonix’s "Fresque des Guides" (Mural of Mountain Guides). It’s not far from the finish line of the Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc, which each year welcomes thousands of women to the Alps, running the trail Marie blazed in her long woolen skirts.
The Marie Paradis Collection will be available beginning July 14, 2026 at paradissport.com and select specialty retail partners.
