We’re excited to welcome Ruby Wyles to the Paradis Pro family! At Paradis Sport, we’re passionate about championing female athletes who embody resilience and a strong sense of community; Ruby is the perfect fit.
Ruby is a 23-year-old former NCAA Division I distance runner and current aspiring professional cyclist. She’s also an exercise physiologist in training, a writer, a coach, a podcast producer, a fierce advocate for women in sport, and, by her own admission, a “true nerd” when it comes to the science of human performance. With a 4.0 GPA and a deep love of research (especially on female athletes), Ruby embodies what it means to be intellectually driven and physically bold.
Her athletic journey hasn’t been linear. “I totally sucked,” she shares, in reference to her running as a kid. But determination (plus a local community who believed in her) and a strong work ethic carried her to national podiums, a full scholarship, and a B.S. in Exercise Physiology with honors. After a string of serious injuries, Ruby made the transition from elite running to cycling. Unfortunately last fall while out for a ride Ruby was struck by a semi-truck that resulted in life-threatening injuries and a traumatic brain injury.
Many would have quit - Ruby didn’t. She fought back with the same grit she’s always brought to her training to overcome the hardest days, and recovery hasn’t been easy. She’s been working through the physical and mental toll of that accident alongside other challenges, and yet here she is: dreaming big and moving forward.
Ruby brings belief and vulnerability to everything she does. She deeply understands the power of community, and brings the same passion to uplifting others as she does to pursuing her Olympic dream of competing in the cycling road race. Whether she’s coaching athletes, writing about performance, or sharing gear that helps women feel good in their bodies, Ruby shows up with honesty and purpose.
She says what first drew her to Paradis was our commitment to women. “Finally, a brand that puts female athletes first instead of trying to extrapolate male data or ‘shrink and pink’ performance gear.” After putting our underwear to the test, she’s all in. “They stay in place and perform great. In fact, I barely noticed I was wearing them at all. A big win!”
We couldn’t be more honored to have Ruby on the team. She’s strong, brilliant, and personable, and she’s helping us define what it means to be a performance brand for women. Keep an eye out for her thoughtful blogs, insightful product reviews, and authentic content as she continues to inspire women of all ages to chase their potential and feel good doing it.
Welcome to Paradis, Ruby. We’re so lucky to have you!
